Magical brightness

Absorbing in all the positivity

Surrounding something so bright and colorful, it is pretty difficult to be anything less than positive. It is always better to think of the brighter side in life. And today, I’m thankful for the journey that has brought me to where I am in today. Also, I’m thankful for the infinite amount of resources of boba that is assessable to me living in Little Saigon, Orange County!

I heart!

It still surprises me how many photos are captured of me with a milk tea in hand! Sometimes it seriously make me laugh and think… typical. But here I am, milk tea in hand, exploring these magical rocks of Seven Magic Mountains, which is located right outside of Las Vegas off the 15 highway.

Boba house of the day was Volcano Tea, located right in the heart of Chinatown of Las Vegas. The prices was of course affordable, considering it is off the Las Vegas Strip, and that works for me! I got almond milk tea with milk pudding. Milk pudding is my favorite topping. If it’s on the menu, I got to have it, and I love pairing it with almond milk tea. It’s just my preference and it’s amazingly delicious!

Beautiful dreams with a side of heartache

Looking for boba is always a fun experience wherever I’m at, even in Sin City! I’m a heavy drinker! A heavy boba drinker that is!

And let me tell you, nothing goes unnoticed in Las Vegas. Everything is flashy and grand, and that definitely comes with a hefty price tag, and this includes boba! Maybe, I was paying for convenient (time is money?), since I didn’t want to leave the strip and drive in the ridiculous traffic. How about 45 minutes to go two miles? No, thank you.

So, while walking around, I decided to visit Tbaar, and ordered my usual green milk tea. I feel partial to the drink or the boba shop since I couldn’t get past the fact that they charge $5.50+ tax for a 16 oz. drink! I got two drinks and paid nearly $12. Let me tell you… It was not worth it!

While in Vegas, I had an experience that had me ponder… maybe because I was feeling blue from boba deprivation? But have you ever had dreams that were so so beautiful but at the same time so so cruel? Dreams so beautiful, to only realize it was just a dream… and wake up to an overwhelming feeling of sadness.

It’s an indecipherable feeling, whether you’re happy or sad. Happy that it happened, and sad that you wish it was real. Yet, I’m grateful that I can still dream beautiful dreams, and see the most incredible and important person in this life time of mine. All heart.

On a different note, if you’re looking for boba, go off the strip and to Chinatown area on Spring Mountain Rd! There are plenty to chose from and prices are way more reasonable. Which is usually the case. But if you’re lazy like me and don’t want to hassle with the parking and crazy Vegas traffic, you pay $6 for your 16 oz!

Happy boba hunting!

Attempted Hustle & Heart

Happiness in a cup = heart.

Today called for productivity, so I decided to go to a boba house, Bloomz, to plan out a project and start a brainstorming session with my friend. What I really ended up doing was watching pop music videos while sipping on my milk tea… Technically, it wasn’t my fault since I didn’t play the videos myself. Right? So, I will credit Bloomz, for the unintended distraction. My poor friend ended up brainstorming by herself while I sat there completely distracted. But on a good note, I am now very well verse with Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, The Weekend and Taylor Swift. Winning!

Maybe, I should bring headphones next time..

Good thing was, she did like the drink I recommended, and was content to work on the project on her own. At Bloomz, they have crystal boba, which is why it is one of my favorite boba houses. My go-to drink is jasmine milk tea and of course with an add-on of crystal boba. Crystal boba is also known as agar boba, which is made from algae. In comparison to the traditional boba, crystal boba is a white pearl that is translucent, has a gelatin texture and a bit more crunchy than it is chewy. So if you’re counting calories, it’s a healthier option than your traditional boba! Regardless, it’s deliciousness in a cup!

Side note, I did finally help her with the planning, after who knows how long. A for effort though. At least we go the job done! Kudos (to her).

I suppose, I did accomplish what I set out to do today. I got to the boba house. Yay!

Ding! Ding! Ding Tea

I need a bigger wallet to expense all my milk teas!

Last night, I totally needed a pick-me-upper, so I settled for Ding Tea, in Garden Grove, and maybe because it’s next to my mom’s house. My No. 1 go to is their Signature Milk tea. This is my absolute favorite item on the menu. I prefer my drink with a stronger flavor of tea, and this drink does just that. I love it!

And you know what else? They give you stamp cards! I LOVE stamp cards! I’m that one person who stands there and goes through all my stamp cards to find the right one for the store! #NoShame.

And also, this cornucopia of a wall always makes me feel like it’s fall in there, and that’s nice because I’m still waiting for fall to arrive… Bad news is, it has already arrived! what..? I’m still not feeling the whole sweater weather thing!

Once I got my drink, I sat down since I had time to kill before work, I couldn’t help but continue to daze about my jumbo mumbo of thoughts. Mainly the thought of being lost, confused, alone, and sometimes frustrated due to lack of direction in life…to maybe meet your ultimate goal.
Also, that feeling of being stagnant, when everyone and everything is passing you by..

Does anyone share the same sentiment..?
Don’t get me wrong, I am very grateful for what I have going in my life, but just still very unfulfilled.

Then I realized I was running super late, so I pulled a ninja move out of my chair! And obviously that totally made me snapped out of it. Plus I had my milk tea to pick me up! That was the whole reason why I came there in the first place, right? It’s totally magic in a cup. I’m telling you, so you best believe it.

Just my thought of the day.

It’s raining! Wait no, it’s Seattle..

IMG-0997Always a milk tea in hand. It’s part of the accessories really.

Last November, I was wandering around Seattle, I was totally confused to why the streets were so empty. Then I realized the Seahawks were playing, that’s football for you non-football fans (like me). It was pretty thunderous, earthquake status, as I’m wandering around from International District to King Station. But that’s alright, I had boba in my hand!

It was slightly drizzling, and my poor boyfriend had to deal because this girl wanted boba! DUH! Did I mention we were walking? At least I made up for it by waiting in a huge long line to get Dim Sum with him. :}

While trying to decide on a place, I stumbled on a pretty authentic local mom and pop shop, Ambrosia. It felt like a pick up and go type of shop, and not a place where you would sit and do work. At least that was the vibe I was getting. It did the job, my milk tea was satisfying.

For the remainder of my stay, I had my lovely old man drive me to Sharetea in University District, from Downtown Seattle where we were staying, to get me boba daily. Poor guy didn’t even want anything. But don’t worry, he got used to it because that’s what you do if you love me!

So if you’re in Seattle and on the hunt for boba houses, University District has a couple familiar names to choose from, Kung Fu Tea and Chatime. There are a few others, but these are my preferences. So happy boba hunting!

Take me back!
